Jim Pretlow
James P. Pretlow, CCIM attended the University of North Carolina prior to joining the United States Air Force. During his career as a fighter pilot and staff officer he attended the University of the Philippines, the university of Long Island and graduated from the Armed Forces Staff Collage. Mr. Pretlow has had 24 years experience as a commercial real estate broker and for ten years was president of First Management Control Inc., a property management company with clients in northwest Florida and Texas.
In 1984 Mr. Pretlow earned the coveted designation of Certified Commercial Investment Member, and was named Bay County Realtor of the Year. In 1986 was elected President of the Bay County Association of Realtors and moved the Board into its current location on Harrison Avenue.
In 1993 Mr. Pretlow became a Partner in Bay Point Yacht & Country Club Inc and started Bay Point Real Estate, Inc., a resort sales and rental management company. Two years later the real estate company was sold successfully with annual sales of over ten million and 120 units under management.
Mr. Pretlow has served as court appointed receiver of commercial and multi-family property and has testified as an "Expert Witness" in commercial real estate. He has represented local financial institutions, RTC, and FDIC in workouts and sales of distressed property.
As part of paying his "Civic Rent" he has served as President of Panama City Beach Rotary Club, President of the Krewe of Dominique Youx, a Marde Gras marching organization, Chairman of the Citizens Advisory Committee to the Bay County Metropolitan Planning Organization, and Commodore of the Bay Point Yacht Club.
Mr. Pretlow specializes in income producing properties, asset disposition, financial analysis, and as a development consultant.
